System simulation has tremendous value for plant engineering, whereby the transition from industrial machinery to plant engineering is often smoothly. A plant generally consists of many different components, regardless of whether it is in the process industry or in discrete manufacturing. While FEA and CFD analysis reach their limits even with smaller systems on very powerful computers and are therefore mainly used for the precise dimensioning of components, we can simulate entire systems with model-based system simulation.
